Fire damages house in Sarvan

A woman escaped unhurt when fire gutted a part of her house at Sarvan-Bicholim, causing damages of about Rs 50,000.
According to the available information, the incident occurred at around 11.30 am on Friday, when Sakhi Gosavi was cooking in the kitchen.
Sakhi found the kitchen engulfed in flames and had the presence of mind to immediately remove the cylinder, thereby avoiding major damage to the entire house. The locals along with a fire brigade rushed to the site and brought the fire under control.
The kitchen roof as well as household articles were gutted in the fire. Authorities are yet to ascertain the cause of fire.
