A major fire engulfed a structure stacking goods and beach shack items at Colva on Thursday evening.
Most of the goods and items stored in the structure were destroyed in the fire. The Margao fire brigade was called to extinguish the fire. Locals also joined in the fire fighting operations before the arrival of the fire tender.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Fire brigade said the loss of property will be ascertained after the owner submits the list of items destroyed in the blaze. Locals pointed out that the structure in question was storing goods and items of beach shack for the last 2-3 years. The cause of the fire, however, remains unknown.
Meanwhile, a fire incident occurred at the ONGC, Betul during ongoing welding and construction activities. Fire services pointed out that welding sparks came into contact with flammable adhesive material, resulting in a fire, which also affected a vehicle. The ONGC Fire Service and Cuncolim Fire Station arrived at the location and completed the fire-fighting operations.
