Two separate fire incidents were reported at Honda and Velus-Valpoi on Saturday.
The first incident occurred in the afternoon near Ajoba Temple at Honda, Sattari, where dry grass caught fire. Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Valpoi Fire Station rushed to the spot. Under the guidance of Senior Fire Fighter Sandeep Gaonkar, the team extinguished the fire.
The second incident took place in the evening near Hanuman Vidyalaya at Velus, Valpoi, Sattari, where a dry jackfruit tree caught fire. A fire brigade went to the site and extinguished the fire.
Although no casualties were reported in either incident, these incidents highlight the increased risk of fire during the summer season due to dry grass and trees.
