The first accident case to occur on the new third Mandovi bridge was registered at the Panaji police station on Sunday night.
The incident occurred when a speeding car (Maruti Swift) crashed into another car (Honda City) from the rear.
Both cars were proceeding towards Porvorim.
And although there were no fatalities reported, both cars were heavily damaged in the accident.
Police have registered the incident as a motor vehicle accident and police constable Shamrao Priolkar is conducting further inquiries in this case.
