Lifeguarding organisation, Drishti Marine, is all set to begin providing premium ferry services in Goa from the month of November.
In the first phase of operation from November, locals and tourists will be able to take a ferry from Old Goa to Panaji to Airport Ferry Terminal (AFT) at Baina and then back from AFT to Panaji to Old Goa.
Tickets for this upcoming ferry service can be booked by going to www.drishtiferry.com. The website shows that people will be able to book tickets from November 1
onwards. Passengers will also be able to buy tickets at ticketing counters at the time of boarding.
Drishti Marine also informed that a free shuttle to travel from Dabolim Airport to AFT has been provided at the airport for the convenience of the passengers.
G Ravi Shankar, chief executive officer (CEO), Drishti Marine said, "The luxurious ferries have plush seating, spacious interiors, clean bathrooms, charging points, safety belts, air-conditioned passenger lounge, waiting areas and on-board baggage assistance with free wifi. Besides, packaged snacks and beverages will be available on-board. The crew on-board include lifeguards, who are trained to carry out rescue operations."
Drishti Marine's ferry service will take this route: From Old Goa (pick-up point: Jetty behind Se Cathedral) to Panaji (pick-up point Captain of Ports) to AFT at Baina and then back. The fare has been kept at Rs 100 and Rs 150 per passenger for a non-AC trip and AC trip respectively from Panaji to Old Goa.
Similarly, per passenger fare has been kept at Rs 500 (non-AC) and Rs 800 (AC) for AFT to Panaji route. For Old Goa to AFT route, fare has been pegged at Rs 550 (non-AC) and Rs 850 (AC). Drishti Marine has acquired two luxurious 40-seater, high-speed catamarans for the purpose of ferry services.
Drishti's ferry will depart everyday from Old Goa at 8:00 am, 11:30 am and 3:30 pm. It will take 55 minutes for the ferry to reach AFT from Old Goa.
Sometime later this year, Drishti Marine will also commence ferry services from Old Goa to Panaji to Aguada to Baga to AFT.
