CM emphasises 100% employment through skill education

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurates the foundation day programme of Matoshri Padmini Educational Institution at Sanquelim, in the presence of others.
Highlighting the growing opportunities in medical education abroad, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that a foreign language training institute will soon be set up in Sanquelim to help students prepare for international careers.
He was speaking at the foundation day celebration of Matoshri Padmini Educational Institution held at Ravindra Bhavan in Sanquelim. Sawant said that providing quality education along with ensuring 100% employment for students remains the government’s key objective.
“Efforts are being made to provide diverse skill-based education so that students can succeed not only in Goa but also at national and global levels,” he said.
The Chief Minister noted that due to limited medical education facilities in Goa, many students earlier had to move outside the State, staying away from their families. To address this, Sai Nursing Institute introduced nursing courses and later expanded to include physiotherapy, naturopathy, yogic sciences and pharmacy, creating more opportunities within the State.
He added that financial assistance is being provided to deserving students through the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme to ensure that no student is left behind due to financial constraints. The institution also plans to introduce its own scholarship scheme to support talented and underprivileged students.
Encouraging students to move beyond traditional degree courses, Sawant urged them to take advantage of the wide range of educational opportunities available today. He said the institution is committed to ensuring 100% employment and is working to build the necessary infrastructure and resources to achieve this goal.
The institution, which began as “Sai Life Care”, has grown into a group of professional colleges. Starting with an anganwadi in 2000, it established Sai Nursing Institute in 2014 and has since expanded. Today, about 90% of its students have secured employment, which the Chief Minister described as its true success.
