A minor boy's attempt to end his life led Pernem Police to arrest four youth on charges of blackmailing the boy and his minor sister, after forcing them to strip and filming them in the nude.

According to Pernem Police, the accused Deepak alias Vishnu Naik, Suryakant Naik, Amar Tilve and Yeshwant Tilve allegedly assaulted the minor boy at Palyem and made him strip and filmed him in the nude. Later, the accused caught hold of his sister and also made her strip and filmed her as well. Police said the accused threatened the victims to show the video to their family and post it on social media, if they reported the incident to anyone.
Police said the siblings could not bear the constant harassment and the boy decided to end his life.
He tried to drink phenol, when his father noticed him and stopped him in time. The boy then narrated the entire incident to his father, who filed a complaint at Pernem Police station.
Acting on the complaint, Pernem Police on Tuesday arrested Deepak alias Vishnu Naik and during interrogations, Naik disclosed the names of three other youth. Police swung into action and arrested Suryakant Naik, Amar Tilve and Yeshwant Tilve on Wednesday.
All the four accused were arrested under Sections 342, 324, 364, 306, 506 of IPC and Sections 5/11 and 8/2 of Goa Children's Act. The police suspects the involvement of more persons in the incident and PSI Parag Parekh is investigating the case.
