Alleging that the police have registered a fabricated and false case against the Central Managing Committee member Rama Kankonkar and 30 other villagers of Azossim who had been active in exposing an allegedly illegal construction at Azossim, the Gawada Kunbi Velip and Dhangar Federation (Gakuved) has condemned the act of the police.
At a press conference General Secretary Rupesh Velip said that the builder whose illegal project Kankonkar
was opposing has targeted him through his woman employee who has filed a fabricated complaint alleging molestation.
The false case has been registered under sections 143, 147, 447, 504, 323, 427, 506, w.r.t sec 149 with the intention of arresting Kankonkar and causing irreparable damage and harm to his reputation, alleged Velip.
According to Velip, the inspection at the Azossim site was actually done in the presence of three panch members (one female), 5 police personnel, a priest, four villagers and police inspector Uday Gaude of Agassaim police station.
Ravindra Velip said that the federation is of opinion that the false FIR has been filed in order to divert the attention of activists who are opposing the IT Park at Chimbel.
Recently there have been attempts to murder 3 village youth who were opposing the Chimbel IT Park.
Meanwhile, the Gakuved Federation has filed a counter complaint against one lady who has made molestation charges against Rama Kankonkar under provision of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989 and demanded that action should be taken against her.
