The The Gawda, Kunbi, Velip and Dhangar (Gakuved) executive members visited Paryemoll in Quepem Taluka and extended their support to villagers who are opposing the proposed fishmeal factory in the village.
The people of Paryemoll are opposing this project as they believe it will pollute the water bodies, water reservoirs, and the surrounding areas. They fear that waste generated from fish processing can have adverse impacts on the environment.
Gakuved member Soiru Velip explained that they have already informed the Village Panchayat of Barcem-Quepem to notify them in case they receive any applications to start such a project in the specified survey number.
Gakuved General Secretary Rupesh Velip assured the villagers of providing all possible support and standing with them whenever they require assistance.
