The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has submitted a representation to South Goa Collector and District Magistrate Ms Egna Cleetus, IAS, highlighting urgent issues related to infrastructure, road safety, and civic upkeep.
A GCCI delegation led by Chairman of the Logistics Committee, Shri Chandrakant Gawas, urged the administration to act quickly to improve road safety, trade movement, and civic conditions.
The Chamber sought urgent repairs of the remaining 3-km stretch of the Goa–Belgaum Road at Ramnagar, better traffic management at Verna Junction, and strict monitoring of heavy vehicles through speed checks and signage. It also raised concerns over the Old Borim Bridge, lack of truck termini, and garbage dumping along major roads.
GCCI requested enhanced safety measures for fishermen and recognition for a fisherman who saved 27 lives. The Collector assured that these matters will be reviewed and acted upon promptly.
