Goa Forward Party’s candidate Santoshkumar Sawant launched a door-to-door campaign at Pilgao, Mayem on Tuesday with his karyakartas, stated the party in a press release.
General Secretary of GFP (ORG), Durgadas Kamat said, “Pilgao and Goa Forward Party share a significant relation. It is BJP who divided us and tried to rule by making fake promises.”
Kamat mentioned that Pilgao Panchayat and Mayem constituency share a close relationship with the Fatorda constituency. However, local workers of BJP divided the workers and karyakartas from the village. With fake promises, they guided them in the wrong direction.
“Local workers of BJP took all the advantage of our karyakartas. Furthermore, BJP side-lined them keeping no promises they made to them. They have realized it now and are all set to start afresh,” said Kamat.
Santoshkumar Sawant has started the second phase of campaigning from Pilgao, the release added.
After campaigning at Pilgao Panchayat, Santoshkumar Sawant said, “We have taken the blessings of our local deity Shri Shantadurga Devi. Goa Forward Party has given me the best opportunity to lead me ahead as the party candidate.”
"People have known me for more than two decades. I have worked in the mining sector in Pilgao. I have made sure that Pilgao village and Mayem constituency develops. I collaborated with the President of GFP & former agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai, former WRD Minister Vinod Paliencar, and former RDA Minister Jayesh Salgaonkar to develop Pilgao village.
“Former MLA of Mayem himself doesn’t know whereabouts of this file. There is no development in this constituency. Only Goa Forward Party in collaboration with Congress can bring a change here,” Santoshkumar Sawant added stating that he received a great response from locals during the campaign.
Kamat encouraged GFP local workers to stand firm on their values and beliefs. “It’s time we show how self-respected we are. I appeal to Pilgaonkars, don’t be a slave of BJP and their party leaders. High time we pay back in the same coin,” Kamat motivated.
