Gajesh Naik, a 11 year old studying in People’s High School, Panaji, is already well on his way to fulfilling his dream of becoming an Information Technology (IT) professional. This month, Gajesh has completed an online Advanced Google Analytics course from the Google Analytics Academy, in addition to all the previous certifications he already has.

The Advanced Google Analytics course is a second level online course from the Google Analytics Academy, after the beginner’s level course, Gajesh explained to The Goan on Thursday. “The certification is valid for three years. It has given me complete knowledge about how to analyse my website and YouTube channel viewership on parameters like age, nationality, gender, and browser,” said Gajesh.

And Gajesh is trying to get all the knowledge he can get in the IT field, both in software and hardware. “I want to be a recognised IT professional when I grow up,” he tells The Goan. Gajesh’s parents Siddhivinayak and Pranita Naik introduced Gajesh to a Goans Empowered with IT (GEIT) workshop organised by IT professionals Vincent Toscano and Sangeeta Naik in 2016, which opened the then eight year old to a new world of Computer Science.

Three years later, Gajesh has his own website www.gajeshsnaik.com and YouTube channel -“Gajesh S Naik” ( https://www.youtube.com/techcentre07) where he posts tech-related videos. These videos have crossed 9,000 views across 74 nations, says Gajesh. He also says that the events held by the Goa Government’s IT Department have allowed him to interact with big names in IT from around the globe. For instance, at the IT day held in 2018, where the IT policy was launched, Gajesh shared a moment on stage with formed Infosys director Mohandas Pai.

Sangeeta Naik, Co-Leader of Project GEIT, told The Goan that Gajesh has been very consistent in his learning efforts and has been experimenting a lot at this young age.

When asked about what his interests are other than IT, he said, he likes to collect stamps, and in school, though not a topper, he likes Math. His inspirations in IT are Google CEO Sunder Pichai and Microsoft head Satya Nadella.

His videos were also seen by Dr Sumeet Parikh, chairman of Indian Institute of e-Commerce, New Delhi. After a lengthy telephonic interview, the Institution offered him a 100 % scholarship to complete all the courses they have. Gajesh is already a certified e-commerce web developer and a certified SEO strategy professional from the Institute.
