Goa anti-terror squad joins probe into desecrations

The Anti-Terrorist squad of the Goa police on Wednesday joined investigations in the spate of desecrations that took place in Salcete over the last one month.

The ATS team visited the sites at Chandor, Paroda in Cuncolim constituency, which has witnessed spate of desecration of Crosses since June first week. Cuncolim MALA Clafacio Dias also accompanied the team at Chandor and Paroda.rThe team later visited Ralloi tollem at Curtorim where a Cross was desecrated on Monday night. The team wound up its visit by taking stock of the desecrations at Margao.rthe ATS clarified that the anti terror agency is only assisting the police in the ongoing investigations and has in no way taken over the probe in the desecrations case.rsources said the local ATS officials have been directed to collect intelligence in the cases. Elevated Porvorim corridor work could get going in Oct
