The Goa Appropriation Bill 2022 relating to the supplementary demands for grants for 2021-11 (third batch) was passed in the House on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the Legislative Assembly that the supplementary demand was for only Rs 67.59 crore.
Giving the break up, he said the General Administration Department (GAD) has been allotted Rs 30 crore, district court Rs 4.10 crore, panchayat Rs 25.50 crore and agriculture Rs 7.49 crore.
Soon after the bill was introduced in the House, the opposition MLAs, particularly the new ones, took the opportunity to highlight issues in their respective constituencies.
This forced the CM to state that the supplementary demand was only for Rs 67.59 crore. “I understand the new MLAs have expressed their concern on problems and needs in their constituencies but this bill was only for specific departments,” he said.
“A lot of MLAs are new. The MLAs have no opportunity to speak except in the supplementary demands,” Kamat said.
