The State government is considering starting doorstep delivery of ration for persons with disabilities, individuals with locomotor disabilities, those suffering from long-term illnesses, and senior citizens above the age of 75 who face difficulties in collecting foodgrains from Fair Price Shops (FPS).
Tabling the State Budget, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that many beneficiaries in these categories find it challenging to visit Fair Price Shops to collect their allotted foodgrains. To address this issue, the government is in the process of initiating a system for home delivery of ration quotas for such beneficiaries.
The government also informed that to strengthen the operational efficiency and financial stability of Fair Price Shops across the State, it is proposing a scheme titled “Chief Minister FPS Assistance Scheme.”
