MARGAO
The Goa Forward Party (GFP) Navelim Block held a meeting on Saturday to strategise for the upcoming election for the Rumdamol Zilla Panchayat seat, covering 27 wards.
Leaders and supporters gathered to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and ensure a strong people-centric campaign.
Goa Forward Navelim Block President Anthony Colaco reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Davorlim Zilla Panchayat. “I will always stand by the poor and the farmers, particularly the ST community who are deeply engaged in farming. My doors are always open for the people. Together, let us work hard to take the vision of Vijai Sardesai to the grassroots,” he said.
Goa Forward General Secretary (Org) Durgadas Kamat outlined the organisational plan, cautioning against BJP’s “divide and rule” tactics. “We must remain focused. Each booth will have at least 10 committed members who must approach people as if they themselves are Vijai Sardesai. Within 15 days, we will complete the booth committees and hold a workers’ convention to be graced by our Party president,” he said.
Senior leader Mohandas Lolienkar criticised the BJP for dividing the people and weakening Goa. “The BJP has finished Goa by dividing its people. We must stay united, as many will try to divide us. The time has come to free not just Navelim, but the entire State from their clutches,” he asserted.
Councillor and ST leader Nimesia Faleiro praised Vijai Sardesai’s leadership and said, “His work for ST farmers, women, and youth in Fatorda is a shining example of true leadership. Navelkars should draw inspiration from his vision for an inclusive and progressive Goa.”
GFP State Executive Member Kadar Shah and former councillor Juse Fernandes also addressed the gathering, calling for unity, discipline, and dedication to ensure victory in the elections.
