PANAJI: The State government on Tuesday unveiled an artificial intelligence-powered digital assistant designed to allow residents to apply for government services, track applications, and download official documents through a single chat window around the clock.
The AI Chatbot (Beta version), launched on February 17 by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at his official residence in Altinho, will operate through the Goa Online portal (https://goaonline.gov.in, https://goaonline.gov.in), serving as a unified digital interface across multiple departments.
A press statement issued by the department said the system allows users to submit applications, check status updates, download certificates and payment receipts, and seek service-related assistance using conversational prompts. The chatbot will be available round the clock and will rely on verified government databases, with safeguards for privacy and consent.
Speaking at the launch, CM Sawant described the initiative as the next chapter in Goa’s digital journey.
"The chatbot marks a next chapter in Goa’s digital journey. It strengthens transparency, enhances speed, and brings government services closer to citizens through a more responsive and personalized digital experience... Our AI Chatbot initiative reflects our commitment to building responsible, secure, and inclusive AI solutions that enhance ease of living, strengthen governance transparency, and make public services more accessible to every citizen," he said.
IT Minister Rohan Khaunte said the chatbot would reduce routine workloads within departments and could be progressively extended across all government offices to enable unified digital service delivery.
Developed by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications in collaboration with Goa Electronics Limited, the chatbot is considered as a step toward AI-enabled governance in the State.
