Ahead of the upcoming Shiv Jayanti celebrations in the commercial capital, members of the Shiv Jayanti Samiti and local MLAs, including PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai and Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, offered prayers to Lord Damodar for the success of the festivities.
The Minister, along with the MLAs and members of the samiti, descended at Pimpalkatta, Margao, on Monday evening to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Damodar.
The Shiv Jayanti rally is taken out from the Gogol Housing Board every year before the procession wends its way through the Rumdamol Housing Board and Maruti Temple, Aquem, before culminating at the Lohia Maidan.
Speaking to the media, the PWD Minister offered his full support to the annual Shiv Jayanti rally. He said the entire country is celebrating Shiv Jayanti and Margao too will participate in the celebrations.
Fatorda MLA Sardesai also extended his full support to the samiti for the smooth conduct of the festivities. In fact, he demanded that the Margao Municipal Council should support the samiti by allocating the funds received from the government.
