Goa’s health authorities reported 13 new cases of Covid over the last 24 hours of Wednesday-Thursday and said that two of the 13 persons have been admitted to hospital.
Also, four among those who were counted in Goa’s active case load have been declared free of the disease thus spiking the State’s total count of active cases to 61.
The thirteen cases detected were among samples of 273 people which were tested in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the State epidemiologist Dr Prashant Suryawanshi has advised the public to test themselves if they experience any flu-like symptoms and if they are positive to home isolate themselves for at least a week (seven days).
He said, the new upsurge of cases powered by the new JN.1 variant of the virus has not yet thrown up any demographic pattern in the State but added that all those who have tested positive and are in home isolation have mild symptoms.
