A number of Goan commuters have complained of having been made to run from pillar to post to obtain an RT-PCR negative report in Goa, in order to travel to Karnataka.
“We want to return to Belgaum on Friday and hence, we approached the health department for an RT-PCR negative report which is valid for 72 hours.
However, we were not given this RT-PCR negative report and as a result, it is virtually impossible for us to travel back to Belgaum,” complained a commuter from Anjuna.
Other travellers also complained that health authorities in Goa were reportedly reluctant to conduct RT-PCR tests intended for travel, making it difficult for them to travel to Belagavi and other parts of Karnataka.
At present, Karnataka officials at the borders are only permitting entry to those passengers with a double vaccination certificate and an RT-PCR negative report of not less than 72 hours.
