Citizens for Democracy convenor Elvis Gomes on Friday said that Goans are already struggling with rising inflation, increasing household expenses, and the ever-growing cost of essentials.
He said the latest fuel price hike has added further pressure on families, small businesses, and daily commuters.
“At a time when people are looking for relief, concerns over smart meter implementation have only added to the anxiety of consumers who fear higher electricity bills and greater financial strain,” he said.
“The question every common Goan is asking is simple: When will the Goa Government provide relief to the people,” he questioned, adding “Governance is not just about collecting more revenue; it is about protecting the interests of citizens and ensuring that ordinary families can live with dignity and affordability.
