Goa’s second Opinion Poll on Feb 14: Goa Forward

PANAJI
Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said, “The upcoming Goa Assembly election is the second Opinion Poll that will decide whether Goa will be saved or Goa will be sold.”

In a press note, Sardesai further emphasised the need for every Goemkar to grasp the importance of voting in this election. “In 1967, if it was our identity that was threatened, in 2022, our whole State is under threat of being sold to land mafias; our life and livelihoods are jeopardised, our children’s future compromised,” Sardesai warned.

Speaking during the door-to-door campaign for Deepak Kalangutkar, the Congress-GFP Alliance candidate for Mandrem, Sardesai urged the voters to actively support and ensure Deepak’s victory. “Deepak is a son of the soil. A fresh face who is most humble, approachable, and ready to face any hardship to take Mandrem forward. He should be given a chance,” Vijai said, pointing to the fact that rest of the candidates have all contested before.

“There’s a momentum going for Congress-GFP Alliance which people know is the only strong, credible and secular force that’s capable of eradicating the BJP virus, and people all over Goa have realised that selfish political parties from Bengal and Delhi have come here at the last minute to split anti-BJP votes and get Pramod Sawant back to power,” Sardesai stated, referring to both the Trinamool Congress and AAP and their real role as BJP’s B teams.

“Why has Trinamool Congress not put up a candidate against Pramod Sawant if their main enemy is BJP? Why did they put their biggest leader against me in Fatorda, even when I keep opposing BJP tooth and nail?” Vijai questioned, suggesting a secret pact between them and BJP.

“The Trinamool-MGP alliance candidate is Jit Arolkar who had contested before and lost. MGP was a lifetime ally of the BJP, and by aligning with them, TMC has grown closer to the Sangh Parivar,” he stated.
