A cautious government has decided to extend the ongoing curfew in the State by another week with further relaxation in timings and throwing open saloons and outdoor sports complexes in the State.
However, hotels and bars and restaurants have still not been allowed to open.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the State level curfew will be extended till 7 am of July 12.
“Shops can remain open from 7 am to 6 pm. Saloon and outdoor sports complex/stadiums may also open,” Sawant tweeted.
The district collectors are expected to issue detailed orders on the extension of the curfew.
The government had imposed its first four-day lockdown from April 29 to May 3 which was later extended till May 8.
The longest 15-day State-wide curfew was imposed from May 6 to May 23 and later extended till May 31.
From May 31 onwards the government began to review the Covid situation in the State on weekly basis and accordingly extended it every week.
Meanwhile, Goa registered two deaths in the last 24 hours even as the cumulative death toll touched 3062.
Both the deaths were registered at GMC. The daily positive cases have dropped below 200 and the positivity rate dipped below 5% for the first time in the last three months.
The positivity percentage is now 4.9% with 183 of the 3700 samples testing positive for Covid on Friday.
With 285 recoveries the active Covid count stands at 2,174. The patients discharged from various hospitals are 29 and the new admissions are 21.
