Insisting that the recent assembly was not properly convened in the State, AICC Goa Desk Incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao on Wednesday said the government must either re-convene the assembly, stall the bills or appoint a select committee for the bills.

He also stated that the issue of state leadership and alliance with other parties would be taken up and decided by the party high command.

Rao was speaking to reporters at Dabolim Airport in the presence of GPCC Girish Chodankar, former minister Aleixo Sequeira, Congress leaders M K Shaikh and Sankalp Amonkar on his arrival in the State.

“In the recent assembly elections, opposition parties, including the Congress, have done their best, but bills have not been discussed properly nor was there enough time given and to pass bills without proper discussions.”

“We want to know the reason to rush to pass the bills and we demand that the government either re-convene the assembly and have a proper discussion or stall these bills and appoint a select committee to discuss these bills. Everything has to be debated and discussed," said Rao.

Sources said Rao is likely to attend six-block meetings in different constituencies across the State during his visit and he will also meet party leaders, legislators, party office bearers and other party workers to gear up for the upcoming assembly elections.
