Govt plans traffic measures for Carnival in Panaji

PANAJI

Amid ongoing Smart City works, the government will introduce a detailed traffic management plan to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Carnival parade on March 1.

The Carnival parade will follow the same route as last year, with work on MG Road expected to finish by 26 February.

GTDC MD Kuldeep Arolkar said the plan, aimed at preventing traffic congestion, will be announced soon.

Security arrangements are also in place, with Goa Police, emergency services, and other personnel deployed at all parade locations to manage crowds and ensure public safety. “We urge all visitors to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with the authorities,” Arolkar added.

The official Carnival song has been released, and King Momo will lead the celebrations, urging Goans to stay united in love and peace while keeping the spirit of Goa alive. “To all Goans”whether Hindus, Muslims, or Christians”always stay united in love and peace. Understand each other and keep the spirit of Goa alive,” he said.
