The Goa government on Monday allotted new postings to six Superintendents of Police (SPs) including three officers who were recently promoted from the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP). Two probationary IPS officers have also been elevated from Sub Divisional Police Officers to SP rank.
Prabodh Shirwaikar, Harishchandra Madkaikar and Santosh Desai, who were awaiting postings after their promotions, have been assigned the roles of SP Traffic, SP Konkan Railway and SP Anti-Corruption Bureau respectively.
SP Desai will also hold the additional charge of the SP Special Branch.
SP Konkan Railway Gurudas Gawade has been transferred to the Legal and Vigilance department.
SP Headquarters Nelson Albuquerque has been assigned the additional charge of Commandant of the Indian Reserve Battalion while SP Special Branch Dharmesh Angle has been appointed as the new Principal of the Police Training School.
IPS officers Arshi Aadil and Tikam Singh Verma, who were previously posted as SDPOs in Ponda and Canacona, have been given the charge of SP Economic Offenses Cell and SP Anti-Narcotics Cell, respectively. SP Aadil will also hold the additional charge of the Foreigners Regional Registration Office.
These transfers have relieved several officers of additional responsibilities. SP North Goa Akshat Kaushal held the additional charge of the Anti-Narcotics Cell while SP South, Sunita Sawant has also been relieved of her additional duties in the Legal and Vigilance Unit.
Similarly, SP Rahul Gupta of the Crime Branch has been relieved of the additional charge of SP Traffic.
