The Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications’ expert committee on Tuesday examined a new batch of start-ups seeking seed funding.
At its 10th Expert Committee Meeting under the Goa Startup Policy, the officials evaluated applications for the Startup Seed Fund Grant Scheme that offers a one-time fund of Rs 10 lakh.
Start-ups from information technology, AI/ML, healthcare technology, edtech, agritech, clean energy, fisheries, sports innovation, waste management, personal finance, media solutions and aerospace & defence submitted their proposals.
The committee carried out a detailed assessment, questioning founders on innovation strength, feasibility, scalability and prototype readiness. Several ventures showcased products developed and tested in Goa, reflecting growing confidence among entrepreneurs building locally.
The department further stated that many applications tackled practical, on-ground problems — from digital access and food logistics to clean energy, fisheries management, healthcare and smart construction.
“The Startup Seed Capital Scheme provides one-time support of up to Rs 10 lakh to ventures with a Minimum Viable Product, helping early-stage companies refine and expand their offerings,” it said.
