Govt unveils plan to keep track of teachers, students through VSK

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday reiterated the State government’s plan to set up Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) to track the holistic progress of the students as well as teachers.

Speaking during the State-level function held to mark the Teacher’s Day, Sawant said that the teachers will have to provide a monthly progress report of the students while the government will track the performance of the teachers through VSK.

Sawant said that VSK will record, evaluate and analyse the educational data of students, teachers and schools, as well. He further assured to clear all the pending vacancies of teachers to ensure that no school was left understaffed.

The Chief Minister informed that so far over lakhs of students and more than 13,500 teachers are already enrolled with the system, run through SCERT since 2022.

Meanwhile, Secretary Education Prasad Lolayekar announced that all laboratories of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will soon be established under the Indian Institute of Science.

On the occasion, eight teachers were honoured with CM-Vashistha Guru Puraskar 2022-23 for the exemplary work done in the field of education.

In the primary teacher’s category, teacher from government primary school Chonsai, Parcem- Pernem Harshita Harishanchdra Naik and Soniya Mangonkar from primary school AV Lourenco, Margo were felicitated.

In the Secondary category, physical education teacher Premanand Kumu Naik from Keshav Seva Sadhana’s Narayan Zantye School for Special Education- Sarvan Bicholim, Assistant Teacher Antonet De Souza from Our Lady of The Rosary High School Dona Paula and Assistant Teacher Umesha Sawal from government high school, Fatorpa- Quepem were honoured.

Under Headmaster category, two headmistresses “ Dr Nita Ganapati Salunke from LD Samant Memorial High School, Vidyanagar-Porvorim and Suchitra Desai from Popular high School-Comba Margao while Teacher Grade-I Datta Chandrakant Parab from Shree Shantadurga Higher Secondary School-Pirna Bardez were awarded.
