In a memorandum submitted to the state government, the association has pointed out that government-run ITIs run six days a week, while all states across the country, barring a few like Karnataka, run for
five days.
“We request the Goa government to implement a five-day week system in government-run ITIs. As per the National Skill Qualification Framework, the ITIs should work five days a week and accordingly the time-table should be prepared,” stated
the memorandum.
The association has also demanded that an instructor working for more than five years should be regularised.
Nonetheless, they have also demanded that every trainee who passes out should be provided a tool kit, just like laptops and computers are being provided under the
‘Cyberage Scheme’.
