The State Government has finalized jackfruit as product for North Goa district and coconut as product for South Goa district under One District One Product (ODOP) under centrally sponsored Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises(PM FME) scheme of Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
As part of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries had announced PMFME scheme on June 30, 2020, for micro food-processing enterprises throughout the country.
The Government has allotted Rs 1000 crore for the scheme. The Centre will spend 60 percent while the state component is 40 percent under the scheme.
Under the scheme, the farmers, cooperative producers, farming produce groups, small industries, self-help groups will get grants upto Rs 10 lakh under the scheme.
