The state government has finalised the procedure to start industries and issue travel passes to commence industrial activity in industrial estates and rural areas.
Accordingly, industries in Industrial Estates and in rural areas who want to start activities have to submit a Google form available on https://forms.gle/SVigsABQJdMGR7pd6*
Unit holders have been asked to go through the MHA guidelines and practice distancing and follow other guidelines within the unit. Authorities will be doing random checks of attendance registers maintained by the units and people present in the factory.
Unit holders have also been asked to take the responsibility of insuring anyone without ESI coverage. There would be police checks at the gate to check unauthorised entry of vehicle without pass, it has been informed.
In addition to this, factories have been discouraged from employing anyone who is currently outside the state.
Meanwhile, the Goa State Industries Association is expected to post the format for the undertaking, which needs to be printed on company letterhead and duly signed and stamped by authorised person to secure a travel sticker for their employees. Employees have been asked to collect travel stickers from the concerned field manager of Goa Industrial Development Corporation by producing the said undertaking.
Units can now operate the second shift. Industries located outside industrial estates have been asked to identify the industrial estate they can tie up with so as to be able to collect travel stickers.
For vehicle stickers application, the same Google form can be submitted. Although this is not mandatory, it could ease clearing of vehicles at check points. Employees commuting on foot can show their employment ID cards or separate permits issued by their companies on company letterheads. Further queries can be addressed to GSIA at [email protected].
In case of private vehicles lying on the roads, rules have been made stricter. Pillion riders have been prohibited and only two people are allowed to travel at a time in a four-wheeler with one person on the front seat and the other on the back seat. In commercial vehicles, only one person will be permitted to be seated on each row.
