The Shishya (disciple) Sweekar ceremony is held after 75 years to proclaim the future Shishyottam, Uday Bhat.
Bhat, who studied engineering, is the second son of Vedmoorty Laximinarayan Bhat of Belagavi.
On Thursday, the religious programme started with Meen Lagna, Kanya Navansh, with main Muhurat by Pranab Mantropadesh Ashtakshar Mahamantropradesh followed by proclamation of Namakarna, under the guidance of Srimad Vidyadhiraj Teerth Sripad Vader Swamiji, the 23rd Guru of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagalli Mutt.
A large number of devotees and followers of the Mutt from Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala witnessed the Shishya Sweekar ceremony.
The new disciple is named Vidyadheesh, who will be future Swami of the richest and famous Partagal Mutt.
