OLD GOA
St Andre leader Ramrao Wagh has hailed the High Court order to grant a stay on the order of the additional director of panchayats to suspend the no-confidence motion against Siridao sarpanch Jagdish Gauns.
Wagh said the no-confidence motion was passed on July 30 in the verandah of panchayat as main door of the panchayat was locked and police prevented the staff from opening it.
“The High Court has unlocked the democracy that was locked by those frustrated politicians who after exhausting misuse of power finally resorted to dirty trick of locking the panchayat. The shady role of police, officials of directorate of panchayats and observer stands totally exposed by this verdict,” Wagh said.
