The High Court of Bombay at Goa has asked a petitioner to submit a single, consolidated list of recommendations in a Public Interest Litigation concerning dust pollution and road safety in Porvorim, where work on the elevated corridor project is in progress.
The Division Bench of Justices Sarang Kotwal and Ashish Chavan noted that the report filed on November 3 by petitioner Advocate Moses Pinto was detailed and prepared with considerable effort, but the recommendations were scattered across different sections.
The Bench has now directed him to reorganise the suggestions into a numbered, paragraph-wise format and submit them within a week. He has also been given the freedom to add more recommendations considering the current dust pollution in the area.
Copies of the consolidated recommendations must be given to all respondents, including the Goa government, the Goa State Pollution Control Board, and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The respondents have been given two weeks to file their action-taken reports. The matter will be heard next on January 15, 2026. The petitioner had also said that the ongoing elevated corridor works continue to trouble commuters and cause dust and serious road safety issues along the stretch between Porvorim and Guirim. He had submitted a list of recommendations in this regard.
