MAPUSA
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane visited the Bodgeshwar Devasthan in Mapusa and offered prayers on the first day as the popular Bodgeshwar zatra kicked off on Sunday. Devotees from far and wide converge in Mapusa to pay respects to the deity as Bodgeshwar zatra is known as one of the biggest zatras celebrated in the State.
Considering that thousands of devotees will visit the town, the administration has put an immaculate plan in place for the festival on the outskirts of Mapusa. Elaborate parking arrangements have been made at three different places “ Morod, near the new bus stand, and an open field on the Parra side.
Temporary outposts for electricity, police, traffic police, and the civic body have been set up at the site. Arrangements have also been made to place dustbins at different spots around the Bodgeshwar temple.
Meanwhile, the Bodgeshwar Devasthan committee, along with the Mapusa civic body, has decided to continue the agenda of previous years of holding a plastic-free zatra.
