The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Monday reserved its order on the pre-arrest bail plea of dismissed Arpora-Nagoa Sarpanch Roshan Redkar, after completing hearings in the Birch fire case.

The accused had challenged Mapusa court’s order that rejected anticipatory bail in the investigation into the deadly fire at the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ bar and nightclub in Arpora on December 6, 2025, which killed 25 people.

Dismissed Panchayat Secretary Raghuvir Bagkar had also filed a separate plea.

Soon after the magisterial inquiry findings, the State government dismissed Bagkar from service, stating he was responsible for serious dereliction of duty that allegedly allowed the nightclub to run illegally.

In a separate order, the government disqualified Redkar with immediate effect, saying he had misused his position and abused his authority in connection with the case.
