Members of the Hindu outfit ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan’ (RHA) denounced film producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and his team, while opposing the release of his new Bollywood Movie ‘Shikara’ on Friday evening.

According to its press release, the RHA said it would request authorities to stop the release of the movie in Goa and claimed the movie had rubbed salt on the wounds of the Kashmiri Pandits who were driven out of Kashmir years ago.

“Through the movie Shikara, producer and director Vidhu Vinod Chopra has rubbed salt on the injuries of the Kashmiri Pandits. The movie ‘Shikara’ is based on the story of Hindu Kashmiri Pandits,” stated the press note.

“Around 4.5 lakh Kashmiri Pandits went through such horrendous times but ‘Shikara’ has not only lied about facts but reminded all the Kashmiri Pandits of the 30-year-old past and rubbed salt on their wounds. This movie has to be stopped from being released,” the press note added.
