After one year of waiting in anticipation, mining dependents have finally secured an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will meet them today to discuss the mining scenario in the state and possibly work out a solution.
Sources in the know informed ‘The Goan’ that a meeting with the Prime Minister has been confirmed for today, but the timing was still not fixed as of late Tuesday night. The delegation meeting with Modi consists of MLAs from the ruling party, and all alliance parties, as well as two representatives from the Goa Mining People’s Front (GMPF), president Puti Gaonkar and one other. All three Goa MPs, North Goa MP Shripad Naik, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, as well as MP and BJP state chief Vinay Tendulkar will be present at the meeting.
