Tourism dept says they will be penalised

The Department of Tourism has warned that hotels and other accommodation units will face penalties for failing to submit mandatory tourism data on the Tourism Information Management Enterprise (TIME) software within the prescribed time.
In an official communication, the department stated that all accommodation unit providers, including hotels, resorts, homestays, and guest houses, are required to submit accurate data on time through TIME.
However, several establishments failed to upload the requisite information despite repeated instructions, reminders and notices issued by the department. Hence, a fresh warning has been issued to non-compliant establishments.
Ahead of the charter tourism season last September, the department had issued an ‘urgent advisory’ to all these establishments to update monthly data submission on TIME and compulsory filing of C-Forms for foreign tourists.
“All tourist information must be uploaded on the TIME software by the 5th of every month, while submissions must be accurate and complete. Incomplete data will be treated as non-compliance. Regular monitoring and audits of accommodation units will also be conducted.
Failure to submit data on TIME will attract penal action, including fines and sanctions under Rule 17 of the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade (Amendment) Rules, 2022. Persistent or wilful non-compliance could further lead to suspension or cancellation of the establishment’s operating licence,” it had said.
