A residential house in Navelim was burgled just days after its occupants left for the United Kingdom. Local residents noticed that the doors of the bungalow were open and alerted the relatives of the owners, who then informed the police to begin an investigation.

The burglars are believed to have entered the house by breaking a glass panel and opening the latch. Once inside, they allegedly ransacked cupboards and drawers in search of valuables, leaving clothes and other items scattered around the house.

Davorlim ZP member Danny Fernandes said the miscreants appeared to have targeted the house knowing that the occupants were away. “The burglars are believed to have taken some cash and liquor bottles. The owners will confirm if any other valuables are missing,” he said.
