House damaged in tree fall at Chimbel
OLD GOA: A house belonging to Clara D’Souza of Chimbel was damaged after a huge jungle tree fell on it around midnight on Thursday. Luckily, the residents of the house did not suffer any injuries.
Sources informed The Goan that the Old Goa fire tender reached the spot at around 8 am and it took them three hours to clear the huge tree that had fallen on the house, totally damaging the verandah and the hall.
The officials have pegged the damage at around Rs 2 lakh. Leading Hawaldar Gajanand Gawas led the operation.
