State BJP Mahila President Sulakshana Pramod Sawant has claimed that the huge turnout of women voters across the State would turn out to be favourable to the BJP when counting of assembly election takes place on March 11.
Addressing a news conference at Deendayal hall Bicholim on Tuesday, Sawant congratulated the women for coming out to vote in huge numbers.
“Of the total 11,10,884 voters in Goa, males were 5,46,742 and females were 5,64,142. Though this different was only 17,400, the actual number of women voters who exercised their franchise on Saturday were 44,891 more than their male counterparts.”
“A greater percentage of female voters is definitely favourable to the BJP,” she said.
General secretary Sapana Mapari, Poriem constituency chief Supriya Kesarkar, Mayem constituency chief Veena Chodankar and Bicholim constituency chief Rajeshwari Malik were present for the news conference.
