Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the campaign to educate farmers on better and modern technologies so as to benefit them in the upcoming Kharif season with visits by ICAR scientists to villages will be launched in the State from Thursday up until mid-June.
"The campaign -- Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan -- is being launched nationally and in Goa too my ministers and MLAs will join in to make it a success across Goa. It will begin from tomorrow (Thursday)," Sawant said.
The campaign aims to educate farmers about modern technologies for major Kharif crops specific to their regions and raise awareness on government schemes and policies.
Scientists will also guide the farmers on the use of soil health cards for crop selection and also applying fertilizers in a balanced manner. They will also take feedback from farmers who employ innovative local techniques to direct their research accordingly.
