Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) is set to lay down measures to redefine business practices and tackle key obstacles preventing MSMEs from fully participating in the digital marketplace.
A workshop, which is part of IDC Connect 2024 at Verna Industrial Estate, is scheduled for May 21 during which these issues will be taken up for discussion among others.
“We are committed to playing the role of a catalyst for the growth and development of industries in Goa and not merely confine IDC to being a land provider...this workshop can be a game-changer and will benefit many MSMEs in Goa,” Managing Director (Goa-IDC) Pravimal Abhishek IAS said.
The discussion will also revolve around key issues inhibiting MSMEs from harnessing the full potential of online commerce, including limited choices for sellers to establish a digital presence, the inability of retailers and merchants to dictate their terms and conditions, and the significant challenge of discoverability for both buyers and sellers beyond the confines of large eCommerce platforms.
Moreover, the complexities of stitching together the value chain have rendered participation unviable, if not impossible, for many players in the MSME sector.
Chief Business Officer”Govt of India Expansion Projects, ONDC Shireesh Joshi stated their focus will be enhancing the value for small businesses by creating an inclusive and democratised e-commerce ecosystem.
