This year’s International Film Festival of India (IFFI) may take place next January between 15-24 and the dates will be fixed after obtaining suggestions from the Directorate of Cinema, stated Subhash Phaldesai, vice chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) after a meeting of ESG executive committee.

Every year IFFI is organised in November however, this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual festival has been postponed by the Centre. Hence, it has been decided to organize it between January 15 to 24, with some of the programmes and events happening live and others, virtually. At the moment, there has been no necessary instructions regarding the live and virtual programmes. It will be decided once the instructions are clear, said Phaldesai.

The opening and closing ceremony will be held at the Kala Academy. The arrangements for the transport and stay will be made once the list of the guests and artists is finalized. After the opening, there would be entertainment programmes, but no instruction has been issued yet, said Phaldesai.

"Once we get the instructions, we would be able to decide about the actual programmes in IFFI."

IFFI usually has programmes like open forum, meet the director, master class, film bazar apart from the screening of national and international films.
