The Calangute police and health officials conducted a joint operation, inspecting several massage parlours and spas within their jurisdiction. The move comes following allegations of illegal massage parlours operating in the coastal belt.
Details shared by the police states that of five establishments inspected on a single day on Tuesday, four were found to be operating without the necessary documentation. The authorities instructed them to cease their operations.
The management of the spas assured the officials to provide provisional certificates and explained that their licenses were still in the process of being obtained. “In the absence of valid licenses, the owners were directed to close down their operations,” Superintendent of Police (North), Nidhin Valsan said.
