The Information Technology department and the Startup Promotion Cell have disbursed the first lot of incentives worth Rs 17 lakh to 7 startups in the State.
The 7 startups will get funds for product development, market research and business scale-up.
The startup which have got incentives have been approved by the High Powered Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
This is the first lot of insentives after the startup conclave Anthaprerna in August to promote startups in the State.
The State government had formed the Startup Policy 2017 which was revised this year and Rs 1.47 crore has been allotted for the Goa Startup Policy.
According to the Information Technology department, around 111 startups have been certified by the government, of which 20 have been founded by women.
These startups are generating substantial amount of employment and around 788 people have been employed in this startups.
