INDIA bloc experiment pays rich dividends in South Goa

MARGAO
No sooner was his election a foregone conclusion, Captain Viriato Fernandes thundered outside the counting centre at the Damodar College that the five Pandavas have defeated the 15 Kauravas in South Goa.

What the Captain actually meant to say that the five MLAs of Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and the Goa Forward Party unitedly worked together under the INDIA bloc to defeat the ruling BJP in the husting.

In fact, with the INDIA bloc experiment paying rich dividends to the opposition parties, especially the Congress, AAP and Goa Forward party, all fighting for the same anti-BJP space in Salcete in particular and South Goa in general, clamours have been heard amongst the alliance leaders for the continuance of the alliance in the State.

Goa Forward party chief Vijai Sardesai pointed out that the INDIA bloc was formed by like-minded political parties to stop the BJP from changing the Constitution and save democracy. “We have achieved the objective as the coming together of like-minded political parties have shown the BJP the people’s power. It is in the fitness of things that the parties continue the alliance in the future as well,” he said.

Captain Viriato profusely thanked the Alliance partners, the Aam Aadmi Party and the Goa Forward party for working hard for his success in the Lok Sabha polls. “Our five Pandavas have defeated the 15 Kauravas from the ruling site,” Captain Virato thundered.
