There are many matters. Regarding these recent desecration of symbols for the last two to three days, we have strategised and discussed on how to take this up and how to nab the culprits as soon as possible,” he told mediapersons. rResponding to questions, Kumar termed the difficulties faced by the force as “minor” and expressed confidence to take care of them. He said a good number of the personnel of the force have spoken at the Sampark Sabha. rAsked whether he perceives any problems in staff strength, he said the staff is as per the sanctioned strength. “If it is required to revise the staff strength, then we will see to it that it is revised. But, it is not that the incidents have happened because we are understaffed. This is a wrong presumption. There is sufficient staff in the police station to take care of the law and order situation,” he remarked. rAsked about the rising number of law and order incidents, the DIG termed these as neither the failure of the police nor due to inadequate personnel. “Incidents have happened and we will see to it that they are stopped and these people are caught,” he added. rAccording to him, the police force is developing intelligence on this aspect.
Intelligence to be gathered to crack recent desecration cases, assures DIG
Expressing serious concern over the rising number of desecrations of religious symbols as well as thefts, DIG Rupinder Kumar held interactions with the entire police force in South Goa on Tuesday at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
