The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department has opened for redrafting the Outline Development Plans (ODP) of Panaji, Taleigao, Bambolim & Mapusa all under the Jennifer Monserrate headed North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA).
International consultants empanelled by the TCP department will assist in preparing the draft ODPs of these four areas, TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane said after chairing a TCP Board meeting on Friday.
"The draft ODPs will be prepared under the leadership of Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate who is the NGPDA chairperson," Rane said.
International consultants who have been taken on board by the TCP department will be guiding the process, he added.
Rane also said that Friday's TCP board meeting has set a time frame and broad guidelines to monitor the process of preparing the four 'draft ODPs'.
He, however, did not reveal the timeframe or give a date when the 'draft ODPs' will be completed.
“With her (Jennifer Monserrate) and the consultants in place, I am confident suitable ODPs for Panjim, Taleigao, Bambolim and Mapusa will be prepared," he said.
The minister also said the draft ODPs will then be thrown open for objections and suggestions from the general public and stakeholders.
"These objections and suggestions may have to then be incorporated but on expert advice and with consultants on board,"" Rane said, adding that such planning processes cannot put the brakes on the development process which has to keep rolling.
Meanwhile, Rane also chaired on Friday a meeting of the 'Conservation Committee' during which approvals were granted to certain projects.
Rane did not reveal which projects were granted approval by the 'Conservation Committee' but revealed that it has recommended "changes" in projects proposed by a few applicants.
